Escape-pain is a group rehabilitation programme for people with chronic joint pain that integrates educational self-management and coping strategies with an exercise regimen individualised for each participant. It helps people understand their condition, teaches them simple things they can help themselves with, and takes them through a progressive exercise programme so they learn how to cope with pain better.

Arthritis UK raises funds to promote medical research into the cause, treatment and cure of arthritic conditions. As a medical research charity it provides millions of pounds every year for grants funding research, education and training. Dean was fortunate to receive a prestigious 2-year project grant from this charity to investigate postural and movement awareness in participants with and without low back pain as part of his PhD research. It also offers very useful information to the public.

BackCare is a national charity providing information, promoting good practice and it funds research.

Health & Care Professions Council (HCPC) is a regulator that keeps a register of physiotherapists who meet their standards for their training, professional skills, behaviour and health. Dean is registered with the HCPC.

Chartered Society of Physiotherapy (CSP) is the professional body for physiotherapists in the UK. Dean is a member of the CSP.

Musculoskeletal Association of Chartered Physiotherapists (MACP) are a CSP clinical interest group and membership is by stringent postgraduate examination process with members able to provide an excellent standard of care in examination, treatment and management for people with musculoskeletal problems. Dean is a member of the MACP.
