I first was aware of Dr Dean Phillips when he really helped my husband because he insisted he went back to see the GP with a medical condition which could not be helped by physio. I went to see Dean when I had a problem with my knee which is now fine. At one visit I mentioned that most of the time when I walked my feet were painful and I could not walk on uneven ground. He took a look and immediately realised that I did not walk correctly, I sat without my feet flat on the floor and that some of the joints in my feet were ‘solid’. He showed me how to walk and sit correctly and then worked on mobilising the ‘stiff’ joints in my feet and gave me some exercises to do. He also recommended that I had my foot size measured which showed that the shoes I was wearing were too narrow. I am now able to walk virtually pain free for which I am extremely grateful having thought I would be in pain when walking for the rest of my life. Thank you very much Dean.

Sometime ago I started to get very painful feet, similar to plantar fasciitis. It was always at night and I was up three or four times walking around till the pain went. I made an appointment to see Dean and there was an improvement within two weeks and in no time I was able to sleep without getting up and having to walk around. I now rest my foot on a pillow and have no more pain. I would recommend anyone with painful feet to make an appointment to see Dean.

I just wanted to thank you for all the help you gave me over many weeks. I feel you got me through a ‘not very good’ time in my life and am most grateful for your in depth understanding and professionalism. I am still keeping to all the tips and ‘rules’ you gave me(!) and thankfully the horrible sciatic nerve pain has not returned.

Dean has managed to get me to understand why my knee is stiff either when I wake up, or if I have been sitting down for long periods. I really worried, as I am a very active lady in her mid fifties and thought that old age was upon me and I would not be able to do sport of any kind. Dean explained on the first visit what the issue was and I was skeptical but over the following weeks, with his treatment and the changes he needed me to make myself in how I get out of a chair, how I walk downstairs etc., my stiffness in my knee has almost gone and it is manageable. Dean was very professional and respectful and I will have no hesitation in recommending him to my friends or colleagues.

When a back surgeon said to me “you won’t exercise your way
out of that, but we can try a few things” it was pretty depressing.
Fortunately, I found Dean (recommended by a friend who had also had serious
back problems) and he worked wonders. Before my treatment, my whole lower
back was rigid. Gardening was near impossible, and walking any distance was
exhausting. I was looking old and stooping. Now, I am out in the garden all
day at weekends and am off on a walking holiday soon. Friends say I look
years younger. Dean gave me my life back.

I have had back pain for over 10yrs and have been seen by different professionals; however, the message conveyed to me was that there was not much that could be done. Dean provided a fully holistic exercise programme involving every movement I made in a day and for the first time I have a treatment that has helped reduce my back pain. Dean has also provided excellent treatment for a more recent neck and arm problem, with again, very good results. Dean has an open minded, empathic, but professional approach which means that you feel more positive and trust his advice fully. I have no hesitation in recommending Dean to my friends and family.

Dean is a highly skilled practitioner, who is client-centred and professional. I have been treated by him on three separate occasions, and he has been unfailingly helpful. I have no hesitation in recommending him to anyone looking for an effective and empathetic physiotherapist.

Dean Phillips has worked as a Consultant Physiotherapist within the Occupational Health team for many years. He has provided an excellent physiotherapy assessment and treatment service for NHS staff. There are cost benefits in early physiotherapy treatment, which has greatly reduced sickness absence by either keeping staff at work or returning them back to the workforce earlier than would have been expected, and has contributed towards promoting health and wellbeing in the workplace. I would recommend this professional service to you.

I have taken both my son and an older relative to see Dean over the past year. I am always impressed with his professionalism and ability to be able to put people at ease. As well as his excellent treatment he is very skilled at advising on relevant exercises to do at home, which certainly helped my son recover from his injuries more quickly than we had anticipated. Thank you Dean. I have your business card permanently in my purse!

Dean has been immensely helpful in helping me to manage my long-term neck and shoulder pain. Having seen numerous practitioners it has been great to find someone who has been prepared to try a range of different approaches to the problem and to provide much needed support and encouragement.

I have worked with Dean Phillips for a few years now, and I have seen many patients come through our doors. He is well respected with patients and his peers. Many patients have commented on how he is meticulous and prepared to give extra time to ensure patient care and aid their understanding of their problems.

I have known Dean for 14 years and have found that his knowledge and analytical approach to Physiotherapy is one that is difficult to match. For myself he has always found the solution and helped me to understand my own physical imbalances. As a Pilates Instructor (who refers clients to him) the marriage of Pilates and his unique brand of Physiotherapy works brilliantly to re-balance the musculoskeletal system. Together we have helped many clients, both sporty and not, and including from surgery, back to full function and beyond their own expectations.
