Case 7 – big toe

• Community nurse with pain in joint of big toe on push off when walking
• 4 year history of problem
• Specialist recently advised surgery
• Dean recently helped resolve their neck pain so patient asked regarding toe
• 5 physiotherapy sessions – passive mobilisation to other joints in foot to off-load painful toe joint when walking
• Patient reported they were 70% normal. Can walk without pain most of time (was 25% normal at start of treatment).
